The kilns sit in a grain bin overlooking an old oak forest.

View of garage with living area in background. The house and studio utilize efficient and ecological building methods, including structural insulated panels, Core-ten steel siding, geothermal heating/cooling, and radiant floor heat.

Our new house and studio are located on 14 acres in Eureka Township, Minnesota, just 30 miles south of downtown Minneapolis. We began planning in early 2002, broke ground in fall of 2003, and hope for completion in 2005.

In the meantime, here are some shots of the house as it looks this fall.

The view from our living room window is spectacular.

View of garage showing the Core-ten steel siding just after installation. This siding is designed to rust back to a bright orange, eventually turning to a rich mahogany patina. The rust seals the steel and protects it from corrosion.

After just a few days, the exposed steel turns to rust color.
